The quintessential dilemma. We hear you. Dress code for Welcome Cocktail and Rehearsal Dinner is summer chic. Cha-cheng! HAVE CASH ON YOU!

Welcome to Montenegro! The country that will take you back to simple (complicated) times when squareup, venmo and paypal were just fancy ideas. Because in Montenegro they are. Fancy people use fancy things like credit-cards, but knowing your adventurous selves, you'll end up on a wood boat in the Adriatic with a 60 year old fisherman with mustache who won't speak a word of English. But you know what he might understand? Yes! Cha-cheng. And the official cha-cheng they speak Montenegro is euro. So make sure to always have some on you. There will be an ATM at the airport and at your hotel and we strongly suggest you get some cash as soon as you can.

What should I say?

Montenegrins are very proud, outspoken and more than anything very direct people. The less you "Please", "May I" and "Could you" the more respect you will get. This is Balkans, people! And this is fantastic because you don't need to learn any linguistic finesse. Just use these common foreigner phrases:

Izvinite-Pardon me

Will my flat-iron work?We know you'll need your titanium blow-driers, tourmaline ceramic curling irons and fully charged phones to take pictures (don't forget to #mericana) and the outlets are different in Montenegro. Please make sure to get a "sout…

Will my flat-iron work?

We know you'll need your titanium blow-driers, tourmaline ceramic curling irons and fully charged phones to take pictures (don't forget to #mericana) and the outlets are different in Montenegro. Please make sure to get a "southern european" adapter.

Important addresses

Montenegrins are not big fans of street names and numbers. Way too complicated. When your cab driver asks you where you are going just say "Maestral", "Splendid", "Sveti Stefan", "Milocer" etc. Have a safe trip!

Do I need a visa?

Not if you are the citizen of the United States, otherwise please check here: http://www.visit-montenegro.com/tourism/visas-and-montenegro-embassy/
